The "wild 60s":
The good old times where music was handmade and the beat was produced by the drum kit and not by computers.
Ralf Froehlich, born in Cuxhaven, was closely in touch with the upcoming beat-wave.
His extensive collection of rare photos, autographs and news articles is the basis for a book about the
Beat-Era of Cuxhaven.
The top European Bands of the 60s appeared LIVE at the legendary "Club 99", at the "Sonne" and the public house
"Stadt Hamburg". Tony Sheridan (first recording vocal-artist of the Beatles), The Lords, Lee Curtis and the All-Stars,
The Rattles and The Hep Stars-Sweden presented their hot beat-shows for their fans.

Even the young local Bands were eagerly showing their talents on stage. Some of the famous groups of Cuxhaven in those days were The Rhythm Brothers (appeared at The Star-Club Hamburg as well), The Spacemen, The Outcast and The Crusaders. For a book about the Cuxhaven-Concerts, Bands and Clubs further material was collected such as photos, documents, news articles and important personal stories of that time.
Nearly all of the Cuxhaven musicians and Beat-Fans are on the list.
One part of the book is filled with the international stars who appeared on Cuxhaven`s stages.
